Course description
This course will help you make the first steps towards a career in ISO 27001 and information security management. You will learn from experts about ISO 27001 best practice and find out how to achieve compliance with the Standard. This course is designed for beginners in information security and no prior knowledge or experience is required. You will acquire a full understanding of how ISO 27001 works, how it relates to other standards from the same family such as ISO 27002, ISO 27003, ISO 27004 and ISO 27005. After completing this course, you will have a solid knowledge base about ISO 27001 and you will be prepared to take more advanced courses such as ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer, ISO/IEC 27001 Internal Auditor or information security risk management.

- Acknowledge the correlation between ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27002 and other standards and regulatory frameworks
- Understand the approaches, standards, methods, and techniques used for the implementation and management of an ISMS
Examination
After completing this course, you can sit for the exam and apply for the “PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Foundation” credential. A PECB Foundation Certificate shows that you have understood the fundamental methodologies, requirements, framework and management approach.
